There are two main types of diamond flap discs available in the market: the KGS Hybrid®-T and the KGS Hybrid® flap disc.
KGS Hybrid®-T Diamond Flap Disc: This type of flap disc is made of metal bonded diamond flaps combined with silicon carbide flaps. The KGS Hybrid®-T disc offers fast material removal with a soft and smooth feel. It is more suitable for work where a lower material removal is required, making it ideal for grinding the edges of thick laminated glass. The multi-layers of cloth resharpen continuously, providing a fast cut and long lifetime.
KGS Hybrid® Diamond Flap Disc: This flap disc is made of metal bonded diamond flaps, making it very aggressive. The KGS Hybrid® flap disc is excellent for pre-shaping materials, thanks to its aggressiveness and long service life. It offers equal material removal and speed as cup wheels but with significantly reduced hand and arm vibrations. The KGS Hybrid® flap disc is available in four different grit sizes, allowing for various finishes depending on the type of work and honing required.
Both types of diamond flap discs are available with either an M14 connection or a 22.23 mm bore. They are designed to provide a smooth and even grind while protecting the operator and reducing vibrations. These discs are suitable for sanding almost all materials, including natural stone, plastic, glass, and metal.
